Snoring exercises that you can do at home

Snoring is a very common phenomenon that we observe in almost all people. Snoring is the vibrating sound of respiratory organs that emits from a person caused by the obstruction of air flow during breathing while a person is sleeping. Some people snore softly while others snore very loudly. Snoring can be very disturbing for other people who are close to the person snoring.

There are many snoring exercises that a person can do at home to stop or reduce snoring. Following are some of the lip and tongue exercises that people can do at home easily based on their convenience. These exercises ideally should be done around 10 times daily and if possible twice a day.

Lip Exercises: People should slowly open and close their mouth completely ensuring that the lips synchronize properly while closing. Keeping the mouth closed, the lips should be puckered and kept in that position for 10 seconds. Then the mouth should be opened widely and then the lips should be puckered and kept in that position for 10 seconds. Keeping the mouth closed, the lips should then be pressed tightly and firmly together. This position should be maintained for 5 to 10 seconds. Keeping the mouth closed, the lips should be opened widely into a big smile. The smile position should be held for 5 to 10 seconds.

Tongue Exercises: Opening the mouth, the tongue should be stuck out ensuring that the tongue is straight and not on to any of the sides. Slowly and gradually the tongue should be tried to stretch out as far as possible ensuring that it is straight. Opening the mouth, the tongue should be stretched out trying to touch the nose and then the tongue is to be taken back inside. Then again opening the mouth, the tongue should be stretched out trying to touch the chin and then the tongue is to be taken back inside. Then the tongue should slowly be taken in and out several times and then gradually picking up speed. Then the tongue should be moved from one corner of the mouth to the other corner ensuring that the tongue touches both the corners each time. The mouth should then be opened and closed multiple times first slowly and then gradually picking up speed. The tongue should then be moved slowly and completely over the lips in a circular way first in the clock wise direction and then in the anti clock wise direction.
